ISDN failover for DSL

I have installed a DSL router(837) in 3 of our sites which previously had ISDN, ISDN is being kept as backup. I have configured the routers with HSRP & we are tracking ATM0. eigrp is used. All works well until there is a problem with the DSL service. The link does not failover to ISDN until the DSL router is switched off. It then reverts to ISDN. Anyone got a sample config of this type of failover. Even though the DSL service is down, ATM0 musn't be dropping.

Hello,

the feature which should help you is called "object tracking". It allows to modify routing based on the availability of an "object", which can be f.e. ICMP reachability of a host. For a detailed explanation please have a look at "Configuring Enhanced Object Tracking"
