ISDN switch-type changes after router reload :/

We have a 2821xm router on IOS 12.3(14)T7 that is an MGCP voice gateway. The router has 1 T1 PRI ckt on a VWIC-1MFT-T1=. The ISP says the ISDN switch-type should be primary-ni. I changed the setting globally and on the Serial interface and saved the config (tried both write mem and copy run start). When the router is reloaded the isdn switch-type changes to dms-100 both globally and on the interface. Wierd!!! Anyone ever seen that and more importantly know what the problem is? Thx in advance...

The details regarding the preservation of configurations in router memory can be found in the following url,

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/12cgcr/fun_c/fcprt2/fccfgfil.htm

Thanks for the link, but that wasn't the problem. The router is an mgcp voicegateway, so Call Manager was pushing configs for the linecode, framing, and isdn switch-type.

I resolved the router config issue, but the T1 controller continues to have incrementing line code violation errors.
