One of our clients needs to stretch a VLAN over 2 sites. The customers has a EVPN service which has a limitation in maximun mac adresses so the services needs to be used routed. As far as I know the only way to achieve this is to use L2TPv3. The documentation on L2TPv3 points at only high range routers but the Feature Navigator states that as little as a Cisco 800 series routers supports this feature.
Is there a limitation in the features of the service in any router 'smaller' than a 7200 of is it possible to make a layer 2 link over a Routed network using this feature? Or am I missing some other feature to accomplish the same? In total I have to stretch about 3 VLANs between the to sites.
