Hi,

There is lease line coming in the premise. Cisco 2921 is installed and configured. I would Like to make this lease line internet network wifi accessible. I would like to keep Cisco 2921 router as it has been configured  with ISP router to access internet. My question,Could I install kind of wifi router cum access point so that I could make lease line internet wifi accessible by the clients and wired connection to PCs as well?

Note: I would like to divide lease line bandwidth in two parts, one  for wired network and another for wifi network.

Any suggestion would be very much valuable for me.  Thank you

Hi,

there are many wireless access point available in market.

you can create separate vlan for your corporate wifi users and assign a switch port to that vlan and connect the access point to the port with cable, you can set separate ssid and password for them to connect.

we are using linksys access point, which is working fine. you can choose what ever you want..

http://www.linksys.com/en-apac/products/accesspoints/WAP610N

you can assign separate subnet for the wifi users and limit the bandwidth on your 2921.

you can achieve that through policing and shaping, in which i am no good to ask.

here are few links you can browse for that.

please rephrase your post title to get the quick response from right expert.

Hi Asif, Sorry for late response. The link given by you was extremely useful. I got access point cum router. I created DHCP pool on Cisco router and after that i configured the access point with router. access point received ip from dhcp pool. i created one more dhcp pool on access point  to distribute ip on end devices such as pc, server etc.

After that i linked more than 1 access point to the cisco router and divided the bandwidth as desired by access points.

The link given above to distribute bandwidth https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/10956426/limiting-bandwidth-cisco-router-possible-1800-series      was very useful for me.

Thank You once again Asif
