Meru AP300 on Cisco 2960S POE - %ILPOWER ERR

I am currently running MERU AP 300 (Foundry) on Cisco 2960S Switches

WS-C2960S-48FPD-L  12.2(55)SE3           C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M

We are having an issue with sometimes the APs work and sometimes they don't and appear dead to the world

When they are not working we are able to see the following in the logs :

Log Buffer (4096 bytes):

%ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Gi1/0/20: Power granted

Nov 19 20:24:09.246: %ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Gi1/0/20: Power Controller power Imax error detected

I have done the google thing and found suggestions for longer cable (50 foot) and also for interface config to include inlin power 2X

Neither of these are doing anything for the issue.

The issue is not limited to a single AP but can happen anytime to any AP (we have 400 of them)

Anyone that knows a resolution for this woudl VERY VERY VERY much appreciated

Thanks in advance.

Did you find any solution to this problem?

I have a similar problem with Meru AP320 access points connecting to 2960S-24PS-L switches running IOS version 12.2(58)SE2

I have tried the 2x command, and it works until the AP is disconnected. Once re-connected the problem comes back.

The issue seems to be a bit random in that the same AP might work OK on one port but not another on the same switch.

I have 10,000 of them

Rick,

What is the IOS you are using?  The command to do the "2x" wasn't fully implemented until 15.1(2)E.
