we are planning to bundle two clear -channel DS3 to form multilink. i just want you suggestion whether it is possible and good practice. The routers are 7204 vxr.

Hello,
Yes multilink is well supported on synchronous/asynchronous interfaces. But if both the ds3 are from different provider
there is some performance issue arises. Advisable is to use both as individual interface and use some protocol for
load sharing

There are multiple things to consider over this:-
1. Do you really have such high BW utilization over the WAN ?
Load sharing over two DS3's in a MLP is a waste of utilization and money unless until you really need it.
2. If you are planning for 2 DS3's from the same provider and if thats the only WAN connection for you ..then you are calling for trouble...-:)
Thinking from more efficient way, its better to have two DS3's from two different providers.
As a side note, PPP would best perform on bundling multiple T1's.

I'd take exception to bullet item 2. Multilink from 2 different carriers has on occasion
caused some timing issues. they are subtle and sneaky.
