NAT / 1 public IP

Hi all,

I've setup NAT on the WAN (connected to the ISP's modem) port of my Cisco 1861 router to access the internet via 2 VLANS. Now I have a setupbox from my ISP and that needs a public ip address. It's connected on one of the eight switchports on the router.

Is there a way to give it an IP address from the modem from the ISP? Because now it's still NATed. Or do I really need a switch?

Many thanks for the feedback,

Wouter

Hi,

you can put your bow in bridge mode so it will only be a modem( L1 device) and let the 1841 do all the xDSL and routing stuff with PPPoE on a routed port.

Regards.

Alain
