Need help figuring out QoS on a 6509e

We've recently installed a 6509e to replace a 4507R as a core switch. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the QoS settings right. I've got most of it right, I think, but the old config has:

map dscp 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 to tx-queue 2

and also:

tx-queue 3

  priority high

on several interfaces. This config was in place before I got here. Can someone give me a hint on how to get this working on the new config?

The queuing architecture is different between a 4500 and 6500.  Additionally, 4500 and 6500 QoS features vary based on sups and/or line cards.  So, it's difficult to be precise on how to best convert your prior 4500's configuration to similar 6500 configuration without much more information.

The sup is a 720 with a hot spare. There are 3 48-port copper Gigabit Ethernet modules (WS-X6748-GE-TX), 1 16-port fiber Gigabit Ethernet module (WS-X6516A-GBIC), plus an IDSM2 module.

Posting

The 6748 and 6516A differ in egress queuing features, 1p3q8t for the former and 1p2q2t for the latter.  (Likely your sup uses the latter too; you didn't specify which sup720.)

The 6500 sends uses an internal CoS to determine which egress queue to use.  You can configure DSCP to internal CoS mappings.

I would highly recommend searching the main Cisco site for QoS and 6500.  You'll find lots of documentation (better than I can explain in a brief post).  (If you're unfamiliar with 4500 QoS features, you can search for those too.)
