Non cluster IBGP peers in Route Reflectors

Hi,

I would like to know why does a route reflector not advertise a route learned from a non cluster IBGP peer to another non cluster IBGP peer. I know this is a Route Reflector rule, but can someone explain the need or reason behind this ?

Hi,

That is because the non cluster IBGP peers need to be fully meshed together or connected to each other.

Have a look at this document (page-3)
