Currently having a problem with part of the router config disappearing after a power failure. And yes, I did do a copy running-config to startup-config prior to the power failure. I have had this happen on three of our sites so far. The part of the config is for setting up the DHCP. IE:
ip dhcp pool CRD
network 192.100.23.0 255.255.255.0
dns-server 192.100.1.249 192.100.1.250
option 130 ascii "MITEL IP PHONE"
option 129 ip 10.0.0.1
option 128 ip 10.0.0.1
option 132 hex 0000.001f
option 133 hex 0000.0006
default-router 192.100.23.254
netbios-name-server 192.100.1.251
The part of the config that disappears is the "Option 130 ascii "MITEL IP PHONE", while the rest of the config stays intact. When this config statement disappears, the Mitel Controller no longer works for the IP phones. As soon as I manually add this line back in the config the IP phones take off again. On an earlier problem, I could not get this config line to go in either manually or with it saved in the startup-config file. It was recommended by the pro's that I go to version : "c1841-ipbase-mz.124-15.T10.bin. After updating to this version, I was able to at least enter this line in the config and save it. When I do a show startup-config, this line is in the config. But as discussed before, after a power failure, this config statement is no longer in the config when the router comes back online and the Mitel Phone controller no longer works properly.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Hello Mark,
I see two options:
upgrade to a newer IOS like 12.4(24)T same feature set
open a Cisco TAC service request to have them work on it.
Hope to help

All,
We struggled with this bug for a while. However with the help of a Ascii -> Hex converter:
option 130 hex 4d49.5445.4c20.4950.2050.484f.4e45
This works for us, on a number of 857 / 877 routers with a buggy IOS.
For more info I posted more config on http://matpearsons.blogspot.com/

Mat
