Port up/up but no mac-address on interface

Has anyone ever seen a network cable be the cause of a layer 2 issue when your interface on your switch is UP/UP, no input errors

you have outgoing packets however no input packets from the server? From my experience when your you're interface is up/up and

clean and you see no incoming packets your looking at an server issue - may it be nic / config or other issue.

I guess you can have an issue if you pins on your jack get bent/crossed but I would assume you would see errors.

BTW -- Server is an ELM 6000 McAfee Security  Manager

Your thoughts!

stick a laptop on the port rule out the server as being the issue , if laptop works fine you prob have a server issues somewhere , nics broadcast the mac so i wouldn't say its the cable
