Hello community,
I recently attempted to upgrade my ISR router to the latest version but encountered an error stating:

"Failed to boot file bootflash:isr4300-universalk9.16.09.06.SPA.bin"

This occurred despite entering the correct commands.

The current version is:
Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 03.13.04.S - Extended Support Release
Cisco IOS Software, ISR Software (X86_64_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.4(3)S4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

ROMMON Version: isr4200_4300_rommon_1612_2r_SPA.pkg

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hello @AM777RO

ROMmon version seem to be good to support the IOS xe 16.09.06.

Verify that the IOS image file is not corrupted. You can use the command verify /md5 bootflash:isr4300-universalk9.16.09.06.SPA.bin to check the MD5 hash of the file and compare it with the hash provided on the Cisco download page.

Best regards

Hello M02@rt37

Thank you indeed. That was the solution. I checked the copy (md5) and it did not match the one on the Cisco website. Now I have to submit a memo to my direct manager to verify the source of this copy.

I have already been able to download the latest version of Cisco's Support Portal and have successfully run it on the router
