Hello,
I am trying to connect via isdn to other routers. But i can't connect to a special one until the other router builds a connection to me. After that I can get ftp eg.
In my config I have different dialer for each host I am trying to connect every dialer looks the same:
interface Dialer123
description *Connection to 123
ip address negotiated
ip nat outside
encapsulation ppp
no ip split-horizon
dialer pool 1
dialer remote-name D123
dialer idle-timeout 180
dialer string 0123456789
dialer caller 123456789
dialer-group 1
no snmp trap link-status
no cdp enable
!
starting debugging gives me following during ping the other side:

Hi Manfred,
From the logs you can see that call lasts for 20 sec so there doesnt sem to be any issues with the call setup as there is a cal which lasts 20 secs and disconnects as normal call clearing.
so if this is the call you are interrested in then you probably need to check with the telco so as to why exactly this call lasts for 20 secs and not beyond(180 is the diel timer configured)
Setup exchnage:
--------------
Mar 8 11:31:50.953: ISDN Se1/0:15: TX -> SETUP pd = 8 callref = 0x3D85
Mar 8 11:31:50.953: Bearer Capability i = 0x8890

Mar 8 11:31:50.953: Called Party Number i = 0x81, '0123456789', Plan:ISDN, Type:Unknown
Mar 8 11:31:50.985: ISDN Se1/0:15: RX <- SETUP_ACK pd = 8 callref = 0xBD85
Mar 8 11:31:50.989: Channel ID i = 0xA9839F
connect exchange:
-----------------------------------
Mar 8 11:31:53.453: ISDN Se1/0:15: RX <- CALL_PROC pd = 8 callref = 0xBD85
Mar 8 11:31:53.505: ISDN Se1/0:15: RX <- CONNECT pd = 8 callref = 0xBD85

router01#
Mar 8 11:31:53.549: ISDN Se1/0:15: TX -> CONNECT_ACK pd = 8 callref = 0x3D85
successful connet:
--------------------------------------
Mar 8 11:31:59.545: %ISDN-6-CONNECT: Interface Serial1/0:30 is now connected to 0123456789
disconnects:
----------------------------
Mar 8 11:32:13.546: %ISDN-6-DISCONNECT: Interface Serial1/0:30 disconnected from 0123456789 , call lasted 20 seconds
if your issue is not what i understood please initiate a call and capture the following debugs
debug isdn q931
debug isdn q921
debug isdn error
debug isdn eve
debug dialer
sh isdn ac...while call is active
sh isdn st...while cal is active
As i again said if the call disconnectsafter 20 secs it is most likely telco issue, ask teclo to route the same call via different local switch in their infrastructure.

I do not see in the config any dialer-list or anything else that would identify "interesting" traffic. Is there something that I missed?

after that i tried to get isdn active and isdn status. There wasn't active idsn calls to my destitation and I looked up the status three time during a ping:

Hi,
Still some more information and show outputs are missing.
But going forward you can follow this.
1. test if the call gets disconnected after 20 sec for only specific site, if yes then telco needs to trace the call path if any issue on all in intermediate switches........(this site and remote site
2. check if you can make calls to different site for more than 20sec, if yes then you can isolate the issue to remote site
, if all calls from this hub last for 20 secs then possible issue local to this hub site
still with my experience more of a telco issue which you need some tests with telco and asking them to change path and then again testing by making calls from router and confirming.
hope this helps

Hi,
thanks. I don't have this problem on every site. other sites connects faster than 20seconds.
here a snap of my config: the normal config includes more dialer and the ip routes for these:
