Hi folks,
I need to configure switchports on my distribution 6513 switches. Servers will be connected to such ports. I see that ports serving servers on this switch are typically configured as 'bpduguard enable'.
I understand that bpduguard would prevent the port from receiving BPDUs and if so, it would flag port as ErrDisable.
That said, my question is, do you agree that it would be fine and wise to configure all ports where servers are connected with 'bpduguard enable' on any switch? If I have no intention to let my switchport receive BPDU's (when servers are connected that is the case), so why not just configure all ports for servers with bpdguard enable, in any switch?

Yes it would as you are not expecting BPDU's from switchports connected to servers. Assuming you are configuring the ports are portfast as well have a look at this section of Cisco best practices paper covering your very point -
