Hi Do you think command "ip pim sparse-mode" can work in ASR9K? I typed it under interface, but it cannot work. Anyone can give some suggestions? Thank you

Hi,
When you say "I typed it under interface, but it cannot work." what do you mean? What is the error message you get?
Also, spars-mode should work fine on the 9k.

Thank you for your reply. and sorry for that unclear expression.
Command "ip pim sparse-mode" cannot be entered under interface mode. Of course, ASR9K can support Multicast, but i think there might be another different syntax command for ASR9K. I could not find it in Cisco document.

Have you enabled multicast routing and than enable multicast for all interfaces before entering
"ip pim sparse-mode" under the interface?
Have a look at this doc on how to enable it for interfaces.

Yes, I did it as the below, but I still cannot enter the command under interface
6W(config)#multicast-routing
6W(config-mcast)#ipv4 interface all enable
6W(config-mcast)#exit
6W(config)#commit

Hello
Have you enabled globally multicast routing first?
