"noise" on 2511 lines

Hi all,

when I run a "show line" on my terminal server (2511) on few lines I get "noise"

I'm attaching the output in attachment.

Anybody can explain me what is this about?

Hello,

I would confirm that you have "no exec" configured on each of the lines. Running the exec process on the line sometimes leads to the router interpreting line noise as characters ... ie an attempt to login. This creates more "noise" on the line.

If it's not the exec process, another cause could be a bad cable.

Thanks Rob! the "no exec" on the each tty port solved the problem.
