Hi,

I have two location on both the locations 2950 switches are installed. A cisco point to point Wireless link is working (Cisco 1410 Series) i have given them one more Wireless link for redundanncy. When i am plugging this two links on the switches instead STP Blockin one port its not blocking & all the ports are into forwarding which is creating a loop. the network is a Layer 2 network Vlans cannot be configured. Please advice what configurations i can do on STP.

Hello,

I understand you are only running VLAN 1 in your network (the default VLAN) ? Try and manually set one of the switches as the root for that VLAN (the root should be the switch that is logically the most centered switch, because all traffic will flow through that switch):

2950#conf t

2950(config)#spanning-tree vlan 1 root primary

In addition, you could try and configure one of the redundant ports as preferred:

interface FastEthernet0/1

spanning-tree vlan 1 port-priority 50

HTH,

GP

Thanks alot...

I have already tried it...its not working still their is a loop ....
