Hi Team,

Why cisco suggested only OSPF for remote leaf extension, Shouldn't the whole idea be to have IP backbone reachable fo extension.

We dont run OSPF on any switches , what other options are vailable BGP or EIGRP or  Static DR ?

Hi Saurabh,

From ACI 5.2(3), we've supported BGP for underlay connection. You can refer below docs.

Changes For Release 5.2(3)
Beginning with Cisco APIC release 5.2(3), the following changes have been applied for remote leaf switches:
• The IPN underlay protocol to peer between the remote leaf switches and the upstream router can be either OSPF or BGP. In previous releases, only an OSPF underlay is supported.

BTW, there is an Ask-the-Expert (ATX) live session related to ACI for our Customers and Partners to join and learn more on this product. Click https://community.cisco.com/t5/data-center-and-cloud-documents/cisco-aci-ask-the-experts-resources/ta-p/4394491 to go to the ATX Resource Page where you can see the schedule for the incoming sessions and also other references that you might find useful.

Thanks,

John
