I have idea about setting static IP address to ethernet interface of router in case DHCP assignment fails or if renewal fails. It should behave similar to "Alternative configuration" option in Windows IP setting - first try to obtain IP address and default route from DHCP ("ip address dhcp" command) and if it fails it should configure static IP address and default route.
I've already tried to google such script but unsuccessfully. I have no experience in writing EEM scripts hence I'm trying to get some advice here what events and commands could be used or examples of similar scripts.
