Smartnet Service for Router 1002

Hi

One of my client Want to query for 1002 , he also interest for smartnet . For this product choose smart service SMARTNET 8X5XNBD for 1 Year.

In ( SMARTNET 8X5XNBD)  have   SMARTNET 8X5XNBD Encryption Right-To-Use Feature Lic 

now question is

1. if client take only 1 year smartnet license and not renew after 1 year then any service hamper or service stop for encryption ??. 

2. if not take any smartnet service just buy only the Router then have any problem ????

3. Its only for Cisco Support

1) As far as I know if the client takes smartnet for one year and then does not renew the services should still work (as long as you are not talking about any service that is subscription based - and in that case it would not be smartnet) and encryption should still work.

2) if the client purchases the router and not the smartnet it is difficult to say if that would cause problems. If they get the router and everything works as expected then you could say that there are no problems. But if they do not have smartnet then they will not be eligible for software upgrades, if they experience a bug in the software they will not be able to work with Cisco to identify the bug and get it fixed, and if they experience any hardware problem with the router then they would not be able to get Cisco to repair or replace the router.  So is that a problem or not?

3) I do not understand your question 3. Certainly smartnet is for Cisco support. Perhaps you can clarify what you are asking here?
