Hi Faisal,

This is usually port or cable issue. Check the stack cable between switches 1 and 3 in case it is loosely connected.

If not, swap the cable with a working one to see whether the ports or cable itself are causing the issue.

hi,

Thanks for the replay

Stack cable already replace with  newer one and also create a loop on single switch (Switch3 port1  directly connected with same switch port2) it show OK on both ports,  same looping also applied on another switch and shows same result.

but when i connect to another switch it show 1 port is down.

Check if one of this 2 ports are faulty. E.g. temporarily connect one side the stack cable to switch 2 good stack port. Try this for switch 1 port 2 and then for switch 3 port 1 (problem ports).

If one of this ports comes but other does not  - you found the culprit.

Kind Regards,
Ivan

When i connect Switch 1 port 1 directly to Switch 1 port 2 (same Switch loop) it shows both ports are up. and same thing also test on switch 3 it also shows both ports are OK. hopefully there is no hardware problem.

i also connect switch 3 port 1 to switch 2 port 2 (properly connected switch) it also shows down.

Are there any errors in the logs when you try to make the stack out of this 3 switches? Did you check local loop with the cable from problem stack connection (the one used on sw 1 port 2)?

Kind Regards,
Ivan

Hi,

Is switch 3 also IPBase? Connect a console to switch 3 and check the logs.

I had this issue with one of my stacks. A license issue caused the stack to partition in two. When this happened I had two masters and the stack ports showed as down.

Thanks

Chris
