Static routing

I configured ports and ip addresses and redid everything over and over trying to figure out what I am doing wrong as far as static routing. ex. R1(config)# ip route 172.16.2.0 255.255.255.0 10.1.1.2. please any help would be appreciated. Thank you

what does the rest of your topology look like ? What is R1 connected to ? Post the running configs of all devices involved, or, if this is a Packet Tracer project, the zipped .pkt file.

the PCs on the right had the wrong default gateway (172.16.2.3 and 172.16.2.4 instead of 172.16.2.1). Interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0 on R1 had the wrong IP address (172.168.1.1 instead of 172.16.1.1). Attached the working file.

indeed, the IP address on R1 needs to be 172.16.1.1 and not 172.168.1.1.
