hi,

i have a fast ethernet 100mbps link with ip address configured on either sides on a 7609 router with 48 port module. OPSF is running. I'm getting ospf routes and able to ping. but telnet and file transfer is not working.no access lists in both sides. no blocking anywhere. the fast ethernet is converted to fiber link with siemens equipment in both sides. its a data link layer equipment.

Hello,

Can you post your config. I can't think of anything that might be blocking it without looking at the config.

Patrick

Make sure that enable and vty password is set.router will not respond for telnet session without password set.

Hi,

Sounds like an MTU problem.

Can you configure 'ip tcp adjust-mss 1400' on a layer3 interface in the transit path of the FTP/Telnet file transit trafer.

Pls. rate all helpful posts.

hi all,

the problem has been solved by the link provider. we connected 2 laptops and both the ends and tried file sharing. did not work. they solved it by doing some changes in siemens equipment. support guy was wrong on saying it was a data link layer equipment. thanks anyways.
