Telnet Problem

I can ping my router but i cant telnet.Attached is the running comfigration.Its a cisco 2621

I have looked at your config and find a few puzzling things which may or may not lead us to an understanding of your issue:

- I notice that the router name in the prompt does not match the hostname specified in the config. I am not sure if that indicates that the config is for a different router or if you have manipulated some things in the output. And if you have manipulated the output how can we be sure that you have not manipulated something that relates to the issue?

- I notice that you have configured a default static route (ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.31.41). But the next hop address that you specify is not included in any of the interface subnets. So I do not understand how this default route can work?

- you say that you can ping the router. Are you on an end station in one of the connected subnets when you ping?

- you say that you can not telnet to the router. Are you on the same end station that pings when you attempt to telnet?

- do you get any response or any kind of error message when you attempt to telnet?

If you can clarify these things we may get closer to finding an answer to your issue.
