Traffic Shaping - Confusion

MatzterH

Hi, I'm trying to shape traffic on my network for a QoS project. I need to set an average and peak shape.

The issue I'm running into is that I can only set the average shape? I am shaping from within a class in a policy map.

This is from Packet Tracer but the problem also persists on the 2911 routers at my university. any help would be great !

Hello,

I tested out some releases, 15.2(4)S supports the 'shape peak' command, it looks like you need an S or T release.

Don't worry about what is available or not in Packet Tracer, as it uses just a very limited subset of the commands of a 'real' IOS.

Hello,

'shape peak' is not supported on all platforms. Can you post the output of 'show version' of one of your 2911 routers ?

Thanks Georg !
Sorry for the late reply, I had to learn how to update a router first but the problem is fixed now. I appreciate your timely responses.
