TROUBLE IMPORTING/REDISTRIBUTING HOST ROUTES INTO IPV4 - EVPN/VXLAN

Greetings all !

I’m facing a challenge in the following:

IMPORTING/REDISTRIBUTING EVPN/VXLAN HOST ROUTES INTO IPV4 IN CATALYST IOS XE.

Details:

So I'm task to deploy EPVN/VXLAN with two Cisco Catalyst 9K which will act as Leaf, Spine, and Border Leaf.

Leaf = Hosts will connect to them (access)

Spine = they will handle routing between each other through OSPF underlay for reachability to loopbacks and iBGP to advertise evpn/vxlan capabilities using ingress replication.

Border = they will run eBGP with the PE routers, and advertise host routes through vrf Lite L3 handoff with the PE.

The challenge that I’m facing is that I’m not able to redistribute/import EVPN local host routes that connect directly to the catalyst. (In nexus I don’t have this issue, because Nexus allow me to redistribute (hmm) routes, host mobility routes locally to the desired local vrf.

In nexus host routes appear in routing table as hmm routes.

In catalyst they appear as Static routes.

I’m only able to advertise them through the catalyst themselves when I advertise the evpn routes through ibgp evpn address family between them and then import them using route-target stitching. This is the only way it's being working.

I know this type of scenario doesn’t follow the best practices from Guidelines, White-papers, and Cisco Live presentations.

I’m trying to make it work it in GNS3 using Catalyst 9000v images, so then I make it work in real equipment.

I will keep testing and trying other workarounds in the meantime.

So far all guidelines says that a Border Leaf is required to successfully perform what I'm trying to achieve.

Here's a detail example of what im trying to achieve:

Any extra details, let me know.

Thanks for your time and availability! Any input would be appreciated!
