Hi all
I've to upgrade two ISR4331/K9 from IOS 03.16.04b (rommon 15.5(3)S4b) to IOS Cupertino-17.9.3a (rommon 16.12(2r)).
The first action that I will do will be the upgrade of the rommon and than the IOS-XE.

there's a note :
When you upgrade from Cisco IOS XE 3.x to 16.x image, you should first upgrade the rommon release to the 16.7(5r) rommon release.
After upgrading to the 16.7(5r) rommon release, based on the IOS XE 16.x image, the rommon release can be auto-upgraded to a later rommon release.
My question is :
Upgrade from 3.x to 16.x is a necessary intermediate step or is it possible to jump directly from 3.x to 17.9.3 ?
(obvously after the rommon upgrade from 15.5(3)S4b to 16.12(2r))
