Hi,

can anybody help me.This is very urgent

In our network there is a problem with the standby supervisor engine.So we are going to change it.Now after placing the new supervisor engine we like to upgrade the ios.The present ios running in active supervisor engine is as follows:

Now we like to upgrade it to ios 12.2(18)SXD.

Now the following things need to be known

1)can we upgrade it directly or any other procedures had to be done before.

2)does the existing hardware in catalyst 6509 support the new ios - 12.2(18)sxd or any special upgrades have to be done.

This is very urgent.Plz friends help me.If u need anyother details plz tell me.

An early response will be really appreciated.

Checked the memory requirements for 12.2(18)SXD4. You might need the enterprise version but the requirements are: 256Mb RAM & 64Mb flash for all versions. Therfore you will have to upgrade RAM and most likely flash as well, sorry.

Thankyou verymuch for your early response.Can we upgrade from native ios to ios 12.2(18)SXD.We are running native ios.(i don't have much idea about this that why i took the output from the cisco 6509 and pasted here)Did you see the ios i have sent you in the show verson command.Do u need more details.Plz let me know.

The circumstances is below:

Since the standby supervisor engine is faulty we are going to change it.So once we insert the new supervisor engine and we need to upgrdae the ios to 12.2(18)SXD ,so in this case what all we have to do.
