Good Morning
I have a new call it a distribution site with a PBX that will provide SIP trunking to a few stub locations. This new network will have a Cisco isr4431 router with a 3750G Switch Stack with a MPLS Carrier, ESIP Provider (one with a DIA DATA LAN tagged interface) and a Cable DIA.
My concept question is what adding a Layer 2 Voice LAN on the switch stack make my overall router config more complex or not to do the following:
Use DMVPN Tunneling to my COLO location thru MPLS
Default route to my Cable DIA
ESIP Traffic to Provider
Next Hop Router via PBR for PBX to Internet SIP Providers to ESIP DIA
I know that I am missing a Visio and a few other details and I know what advantages that a Voice LAN and in general what Layer-2 VLANs help with but my question is does a Layer 2 VLAN help make a router config less complex or not when using Policy Based Routing or other routing methods to leverage on DIA or MPLS circuit for various types of traffic??
Thank You
