WAAS Question

1 main site, 5 branch offices connected via point to point T1 lines.

Users at branch offices access resources (files, sharepoint, web, etc) at the main site.

If the objective is for users at branch offices to observe accelerated WAN use accessing resources at the main site does the Cisco WAAS solution require a WAAS engine at the main site? Can you just have the WAAS engine router modules at the branches?

There would obviously need to be one WAAS manager appliance.

I'm just trying to find out if and/or why a WAAS engine would be needed at the main site in this scenario.

Thanks.

Found a good document that answers these questions. The optimization is performed between core and edge WAEs.
