Whats the difference/similiarity btwn PPP & HDLC?
Is there a similarity btwn RDC & PPP?
Is PPP just a multiprotocol version of HDLC?
thnx

Hello Baljit,
you have already found the major difference PPP has an architected field to tell what is the upper layer protocol it supports.
Other differences exist:
PPP support authentication and has an advanced link negotiation.
PPP supports multilink PPP for link aggregation.
So you understand that PPP is not only a multiprotocol version of HDLC
Hope to help
