What´s the name of the protocol used by HP for WCCP??   Sorry question this on a Cisco forum but I can´t find this information...

Hello Adriano,

contrary to HP bias on their documentation, WCCP is a standards based protocol not Cisco proprietary,

see

http://www.wrec.org/Drafts/draft-wilson-wrec-wccp-v2-00.txt

Other vendors like Juniper have implemented WCCP on their products, HP didn't.

In addition to this HP tries to make marketing noise with

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=4181066&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=4181066&objectID=c03595524&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0006

Someone suggests the use of application aware service modules and to run WCCP over them

see

I don't know if this is viable option for you

Hope to help

Giuseppe
