What kind of reason can cause ping reachable but traceroute unreachable?

Hi Ping is reachable, but traceroute is not from source to destination. Over the path, there are five routers connected one by one. What kind of reason/how many reason can cause ping reachable but traceroute unreachable? Thank you

You could be going through an mpls network , a firewall may be allowing ping but not trace , the users that own the devices may not want you viewing the path for security reasons and have it blocked but allow for troubleshooting for testing reachability , just some things I can think of im sure there's probably more
