Configured my 2621 router and today for no apparent reason it was reset to the default config. The configuration I set up is still there but not the configuration that initializes when the router boots.....it worked until this morning and now it's configured wrong....thanks

Check to see if you config register is set to ignore start up config(0x2142). Change it to 0x2102 and test.

Hi,

check if your configuration register is set to 0x2102 (as seen in the output below) and that you have saved your running configuration to the startup configuration (copy running-config startup-config):

Nethelper....thanks for the reponse....what I should have mentioned.....it did this overnight, while it was up and running....don't know how that is possible...unless it was hacked and reset to default....but I did have 0x2102 registered last night when I went home....this morning it was reset to default.....is there another reason you know why it would do this....thanks again.

Hello,

how old is the device ? The only thing I can think of is some sort of an NVRAM or flash failure.

Can you post the output of ´show stacks´ ? That output can give indications on what is going wrong.

Nethelper

That is what I first thought.....but it would have to be a memory leak.....because the power was never off to the router....here is what you asked for...thanks

HLC2126>show stacks

Minimum process stacks:

Hello,

can you post the output of 'show version' as well ?

Nethelper

Here's the version.....

Hi,

I run the output through the stack decoder, but that did not show anything...

I suggest the following: keep monitoring the router, if that same behaviour happens again, upgrade to a 12.2T version, your memory (32MB DRAM and 8MB Flash) supports e.g. 12.2(13)T16 (image name c2600-i-mz.122-13.T16.bin). 12.1, what you are running now, is rather buggy...

Nethelper

Ok...will do....thanks for your help.
