Why does OSPF redistribute classful by default?

So, I was practicing about routing redistribution between different routing algorithms for CCNA and I saw that OSPF requires a "subnets" parameter with the reason of it redistributes classful subnets by default. I know that algorithms like OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv2 are classless algortihms and I didn't have any problem about redistributing EIGRP or RIPv2.

What I am going to ask is, there should be a specific reason about OSPF is set to classful subnets by default in redistribution. Why is OSPF classful redistribution by default unlike EIGRP or RIPv2?

Also there is one more question. Let's assume that I routed some routers with default routing. Why do we define the redistribution as static in EIGRP and not with the default information originate command? Why doesn't EIGRP have this command? Why do we redistribute it as static ?

I know that those little differences aren't the subject of CCNA but i am just curious about how these algorithms work.

Hello,

regarding the OSPF default of classful redistribution, have a look at the article below:
