bandwidth limitation concept for cisco router and switches

today ,when we tried to terminate 500 Mbps internet link of primary Vedge 1000 then we got reply that---this link will not work as V1000 has bandwidth limitation of 250 Mbps .

May I know what is this bandwidth limitation concept in cisco ?

please share documentation of cisco about v1000 Bandwidth limitation

Hello @knaik99,

Could be associated with a) Licensing, you might need additional licensing for enabling higher throughputs. or b) These devices won't support higher speeds due to HW limitations. 

In any case, these are EoS so the replacement could be either ISR1K or C8200.

As @OrlandoGM describes, it's generally either a licensing or hardware capability limit.  Often the major difference between the two, a licensing limit monitors bandwidth consumption transiting the device, so attributes of traffic and device configuration may not matter, but for hardware capability, they often very much matter.

Unclear what's considered the restriction for your v1000, but possibly the licensing tiers in Table 6 within https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/software/one-wan-subscription/guide-c07-740642.html might apply.
