Process for small system changes - Hostname

When in vManage mode, what is the best way to change the hostname of a vEdge or ASR router? It can't be modified in device template so do you have to move the device to CLI, update and then reattach?

If the device is in vMange Mode means, there is a template attached to it. Should be able to edit the template and push the (appropriate) change to this specific device. It should work.

The hostname doesn't seem to be a variable I can change when
selecting change device values?

what version are you on ?

did you go to configuration > Devices > Change Values > then you should be able to change

most likely your system feature template does not have device specific for the hostname, i would check that first. see the screenshot

hi i have enabled this but still i cant find host-name change option when i want to change the hostname from tamplate
