Re-use offline SD-WAN vEdge for new site setup

Hi

I'm trying to re-use vEdges for new branch site.

The vEdges were used to use for another site which was closed and they are still registered with the old template  as unreachable state on vmange.

How can I detach the old template from offline vEdges and re-onboard them with new template seamlessly for new site setup?

Hi DaeHeon -

You can detach the device from the existing template.
Given the device is not reachable, vManage will say that it is "scheduled" (aka - when device is connected, it will detach the template)
At this time, you can attach this device to the new template and should be able to onboard the device.
It should work and if any issues, you can open a TAC case to get it resolved.

Hi,

You can go to the Configuration->Certificates then change the status of the cert from the device you wan to detach to "disable", then go to  Configuration-> Devices and use "Delete Wan Edge" to delete the devices, that will detach it although you will need to add the SN again.

Do you mean Invalid status?

If you still need help on this… if you no longer have the device onboarded, with no vManage visibility you can always do a config reset by holding the power button 5-10 seconds. If you leave it 10-20 seconds it will do a software reset.

On the other hand if you have console/terminal access, you can run a:

vedge# request config reset

Hope this helps!
