What is the difference between E1000 and VMXNET3 network adapters when deploying Cisco SD-WAN controllers in ESXI?

When to choose E1000 or VMXNET3?

VMXNET3 adapter being a paravirtualized adapter capable of running at 10BG while the e1000 adapter is an emulated Intel 82545EM 1GB adapter.
