DEM AI-Powered Troubleshooting

Feature Overview:
The AI assistant now utilizes Experience Insights data, encompassing endpoint metrics such as CPU, memory, and WiFi performance, as well as cloud connectivity metrics like latency, jitter, and packet loss. Furthermore, users can now inquire about ThousandEyes endpoint licensing to ensure endpoints are properly licensed to execute synthetic tests. By addressing licensing limitations upfront, users can concentrate on diagnosing and resolving actual performance issues. Overall, this empowers a more comprehensive and efficient troubleshooting experience for resolving end-user access issues.

Key Benefits:

  • Accelerated Troubleshooting: Instantly pinpoint the cause of access issues for any user or device leveraging ThousandEyes data.
  • Unified Experience: Automate common tasks such as retrieving license usage, endpoint health, and network performance without switching dashboards.

Getting Started:

  1. Configure a ZTA or VPN private resource
  2. Ensure user/device is being monitored in Experience Insights
  3. Configure the Experience Insights default synthetic test to a headend (RAVPN, ZTA, SWG)
  4. Ask the AI assistant: Why can't <username> access <private resource name>
  5. Ask the AI assistant: Which <DEM, ThousandEyes, Experience Insights> endpoint license does <device name> have?

ThousandEyes Endpoint License Management

Feature Overview:
A new licensing table located above Endpoint Tests in Experience Insights makes it simple to view, understand, and optimize ThousandEyes endpoint licenses (Embedded, Essentials, Advantage). This centralized view eliminates the need to cross launch to the ThousandEyes dashboard resulting in a streamlined troubleshooting experience. To access this, ensure the user that has done the ThousandEyes integration has Organization admin in ThousandEyes.

Key Benefits:

  • Complete Visibility: Instantly see available and consumed licenses to ensure maximum utilization of ThousandEyes.
  • Informed Actions: Understand the capabilities associated with each license type and reassign licenses as needed.

ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent Auto-Registration

Feature Overview:
With the latest version of ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent (2.3.1 or 2.3.3), endpoints will now auto-register to their Secure Access organization once the ThousandEyes integration has been complete. As a result, there is no longer a need to manual register them with the command-line string. Agents on Windows or MacOS devices are registered automatically if at least one of the following modules is active: Roaming module, VPN, or ZTA. This feature is enabled for all customers.

Key Benefits:

  • Seamless Deployment: Simplifies onboarding of unregistered ThousandEyes Endpoint Agents and reduces configuration errors.
  • Higher Coverage: Ensures all your endpoints are continuously monitored and running the 2 default synthetic tests for comprehensive visibility and efficient troubleshooting.

OAuth 2.0-Based Onboarding Experience

Feature Overview:
Experience Insights now supports OAuth 2.0 for ThousandEyes integration, replacing the manual copy and paste of the ThousandEyes bearer token. Users will now leverage a secure and user-friendly wizard with a seamless cross launch to ThousandEyes, significantly streamlining the onboarding process.

Key Benefits:

  • Improved Onboarding: Complete integration in fewer steps thereby reducing the likelihood of errors.
  • Increased Security: OAuth 2.0 is a modern, secure authorization standard.
  • Simplified Management: Organizations no longer need to manage the expiration of bearer tokens.

Documentation and Resources:

Best Practices:
Customers who have previously integrated with ThousandEyes by copying and pasting the bearer token are highly encouraged to move to Oauth 2.0 as tokens are valid for only 2 years.

Synthetic Test Traffic Calculator

Feature Overview:
When configuring any synthetic test, we recommend using this built-in calculator to help estimate peak traffic when testing private resources. This ensures that administrators can make informed decisions so that tests do not overload critical applications.

Key Benefits:

  • Network Assurance: Proactively plan for and prevent test-induced network congestion.
  • Operational Control: Configure tests with confidence before launching them at scale along with detailed mitigation strategies.

Npcap Driver Visibility

Feature Overview:
Experience Insights now highlights Windows devices where the Npcap driver (used by the ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent) is unsupported. A warning icon next to the Devicename field allows administrators to quickly identify and diagnose endpoints where metrics cannot be collected due to Npcap issues. This ensures organizations are fully utilizing the powerful insights powered by ThousandEyes for every endpoint.

Key Benefits:

  • Immediate Awareness: Instantly identify Windows devices with unsupported Npcap drivers directly in one dashboard.
  • Improved Troubleshooting: Ensure that endpoint performance data is available for all devices, leading to more complete monitoring and faster issue resolution.
