Adding Secondary NIC (Flow Sensor)

Hello.

Could you tell me if it's possible to add a second network interface to the Flow Sensor virtual machine? It's been running for a while and connected to Manager.

Simply adding a new interface in vCenter and then rebooting the VM didn't help. The interface wasn't detected. I tried simply powering off and on the VM.

Is this even possible?

Hi, yes this is possible. You've already added the new interface in vCenter: 

To add a second network interface to an SNA Flow Sensor v7.5.3, you need to configure the additional network interface through Central Management as the Flow Sensor network interfaces cannot be changed via Central Management for eth0, but eth1 or eth2 can be added or changed there. The process is as follows:

1. In Central Management, open the appliance configuration for the Flow Sensor.
2. Navigate to the Network Interfaces section.
3. Locate the interface you want to add or change (such as eth1 or eth2).
4. Click the plus (+) sign to add a new interface.
5. Enter the required network details:
   • IPv4 Address
   • Subnet Mask
   • Default Gateway
   • Broadcast
6. Click Save.

Hello.
For some reason, the eth1 interface isn't showing up in Central Management → Inventory → Flow Sensor → Edit Appliance Configuration → Network Interface.

However, when I go directly to Flow Sensor Appliance Administration, I see this interface.

I periodically see a message in the logs that the interface is disabled.

I managed to solve the problem as follows. I disconnected my FlowSensor from Manager using the FlowSensor cli and waited 15 minutes. I then disconnected my FlowSensor from Manager using the Manager GUI, as it hadn't been automatically removed. I waited 15 minutes and then reconnected it. The second added interface appeared in Central Management → Inventory → Flow Sensor → Edit Appliance Configuration → Network Interface.
