Introduction

The purpose of this document is to discuss an error seen in ACS 5.x logs.

Problem

On ACS 5.3 in the ACSADAgent.log file you this error message:

*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev): 0x080b4ae8 ***

Explanation

This error is seen on ACS 5.0 and 5.3 when an SSH session to the ACS 5.x CLI is closed abruptly. E.g. killing the ssh application while connected to ACS 5.x.

This is a cosmetic error that gets logged in ACSADAgent.log in ACS 5.3 when the SSH session to the ACS is not disconnected using the "exit" command.

In order to verify please login to the ACS 5.3 CLI and close the ssh application, instead of using exit to logout. You will find the following message after running:

show acs-logs filename ACSADAgent.log | in ssh

glbc.jpg

In the screenshot you can see that user "admin" logged in and when the session was closed the error got logged in.

References

Please refer to the Closed Bug CSCsu41917, for more details. This bug was opened for the same error in ACS 5.0 however, in ACS 5.1 the error disappeared. In ACS 5.3 the error has resurfaced.
