CSMARS is not able to back up to the Windows NFS server

Core issue

Cisco Security Monitoring Analysis and Response System (CSMARS) backup to the Windows NFS server is inconsistent. The connection succeeds and dated directories are created, but subdirectories and data files are not created.

Resolution

Confirm that the NFS server can resolve the host name of the MARS device by performing these steps:

1. From the Windows Command Line Interface (CLI), issue the ping command.
   
      
2. If this is unsuccessful, perform one of these procedures:
   
      

• Add the MARS appliance info in the /etc/hosts file on the NFS server.
  The hosts file is located at WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ on Windows servers.
  

• Add the MARS appliance information to your Domain Name Server (DNS).
