Network-Config: Use this command to change an existing IP Address to a new one.
Reconfigure:Use this command to set the IP address and other parameters for a new out of the box server. The MCS Platform comes pre-loaded OS, but what is not installed is the actual application or the “run” file.
Before you install the run file (install-ipics4.0.2.run) you need to change the IP address to the permanent one.
That is where the reconfigure command is used. (Again, use only when the server is brand new out of the box) This script will assist you in changing the IP Address to the permanent one. Do not use reconfigure to change from an old IP Address to a new IP Address, use the command “network-config” for that.
The Multiservices Platform (MSP) servers come already loaded with an OS, so just run the reconfigure command.
