Core issue

This issue occurs due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCeh90309.

The checkheaps process can crash while it dumps corrupted memory blocks. This issue is seen in Cisco PIX Firewall 7.0.1 software. The crash happens only if there is a memory corruption in the system.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, download and upgrade to PIX Firewall 7.0.(2) or later.
