Core issue

- If there is a problem on the switch port
- After an upgrade of the Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) code
Resolution
Perform these steps to ensure that the ASA can access the Internet:
- Issue the ping command to check whether the ASA can access the Internet.
- Check the default gateway of the ASA and ensure that the gateway points to the router or switch connected to the Internet.
- Look for Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) errors on the switch or router interface to determine whether the ports on the gateway device are configured with the appropriate speed.
- Change the cable between the gateway switch and the ASA, and if necessary, change the switch port.
- Downgrade the ASA code.
