Core issue
This error can possibly occur when Cisco Security Manager (CSM) is installed on a different drive than the operating system.
Resolution
As a workaround, add the casusers group to the local Administrators group on the machine so that the casuser has permission to access the needed dynamic link library (DLL).
Make sure that you meet these minimum requirements for CSM:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with SP3 or SP4
- Windows 2000 Server with SP3 or SP4
- Windows 2000 Advanced Server with SP3 or SP4
- Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition (or with SP1)
- Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition (or with SP1)
You can only have one Common Services installed on the server. As an example, if you have the LAN Management Solution (LMS), you need to uninstall LMS before you can install CSM.
Note: You need to be logged in as Local when you do the installation.
