Core issue
This issue can result in one of these error messages:
- Can't insert data into table.
- Couldn't execute MySQL query.
- Got error xxx from table handler.
Note: If you notice similar error messages in the Cisco IDS Event Viewer\bin\log.txt file, the event_realtime_table is corrupt and the IDS Event Viewer (IEV) cannot save events to the MySQL database or pull data into view.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, perform these steps:
- Close the IDS Event Viewer.
- Stop the MySQL service and delete the corrupt files.
To stop the MySQL service, select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Services > MySQL.
- Click Stop.
- Delete these files from the mysql\data\alarmDB directory:
- event_realtime_table.frm
- event_realtime_table.MYI
- event_realtime_table.MYD
- Restart the Cisco IDS Event Viewer service.
The Cisco IDS Event Viewer should now be able to properly store realtime events.
