Core issue
EVDO is a CDMA-based wireless broadband Internet service that offers throughput of up to a theoretical maximum of 2.4Mbps.
This problem occurs when compression is enabled and all the TCp traffic is sent to a verizon proxy.
A behaviour to be noted is when trying to access a server on a TCP port behind the tunnel, the server does not respond. However, other applications like ICMP are fine.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, perform these steps:
- Launch the VZAccess Manager.
- Under the connection properties for the specific connection entry, there is a tab called "Venturi". On this tab, disable the Compress and accelerate WWAN connections option.
