Dhcp-redirects redirected...?

Hi all

We are in the process of virtualising our Dhcp-environment, and as such, we are moving our Dhcp-server/service to a new Vlan/another IP-segment.

However we have a lot of Soho routers pointing (via IPhelper/ forwarder) to our present Dhcp-server. Is there some way, to make something redirect Dhcp-requests addressed to our present Dhcp server to our new one?  (like Dhcp requstests forwarded to 10.0.0.1 transparently for the Soho routers being forwarded to 20.0.0.1). Hope i make myself clear (and that this can somehow be done).

Best regards

Hi Jan,

I dont think you can make DHCP server to forward the dhcp request to other dhcp server as if making that server acting like proxy.the best and recommeded way is used to configure helper/forwarder and change the ip address of the new dhcp server.

check out the below link hope that clear your query !!
